Granola bars


Granola bars are one of my favourite older recipes. I found it one day on the internet and loved straight away. It’s really great- easy to make and you are able to transform the recipe to your individual preferences. Also while it tastes great it doesn’t contain any sugar or butter. I used to buy granola bars in the shops and most of the time I wasn’t entirely happy- not enough almonds, no cranberry, too sweet, too much chocolate… (I am a bit fusy when it comes to sweets 😋). But that’s enough about me, I bet you are curious about how to make this little treat.


  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 i 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup cranberry
  • 1/4 cup dry, chopped apricots
  • 2 tbsp sunflower seed
  • 2 tbsp almond flakes

Of course you can use anything for your bars- desiccated coconut, chia seeds, chocolate chips, walnuts… whatever you fancy 😊

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Place the cranberry and apricots in the bowl,

add oats,

and all remaining seeds. Mix all together.

In a pan warm up peanut butter, honey and vanilla.

While it is still warm combine it with the dry ingredients. Stir well.

Put our mix in a baking tray or into a tin with baking paper. Spread evenly until about 1 cm thick. Bake for about 15-20 min- until nice and golden.

When I baked them for the first time I had to prepare another batch almost staight away… they just disappeared 🤔. Keep them in a box or wrap each of them separately in cling film.
